| La Femme Nikita (1997) aka: Nikita
Section One, a clandestine anti-terrorist organization, fakes the death of a jailed, convicted murderer and, believing her twin assets of beauty and ability to kill will make her a valuable new operative, trains her in the fighting skills necessary to succeed in her new job. The new operative, code-named 'Josephine', proves to be somewhat less ruthless than planned, however, as she had been falsely convicted and never murdered anyone.
Despite being advertised as an action-oriented series, the series' uniqueness primarily stems from its deemphasis on action as such and greater reliance on well-crafted dialogue and complex plot structures more common to the genre of sophisticated spy fiction as influenced by film noir and neo-noir. Since its inception, the series did not have a large enough budget to finance complex action sequences (as seen in later dramatic spy fiction or spy thriller TV series such as Alias or 24). Its creative team exhibited great ingenuity marshaling its modest resources, channeling their energies into the writing of episodes with more complex plot structures, fuller character development, and more substantial dialogue for the series' actors (all of which aspects are less costly than filming special effects in action sequences). | Little Mosque On The Prairie (2007)
The location is Mercy Saskatchewan, a small town in the Canadian prairies. A small but devout community of Muslims has settled there, headed by community leader Yasir Hamoudi, a local building contractor. He is married to Sarah, a Caucasian ex-Christian who has converted to Islam for her husband. Their adult daughter, Rayyan, is a feminist Muslim doctor. The religious leader of the Muslim community - the Imam - is Amaar Rashid, a young, Canadian-born ex-lawyer from Toronto, who came to Mercy to replace Baber Siddiqui, who was deemed too extreme by many in the Mercy Muslim community. The local diner is run by Fatima Dinssa, a Nigerian Muslim who is strict about her religion but more liberal in her cultural values. The Muslims in Mercy are co-existing with their Christian neighbors, sometimes harmoniously, sometimes not. Reverend Duncan Magee welcomes his Muslim neighbors, especially if they enhance the social and economic fabric of the community and his parish. Likewise, Mayor Ann Popowicz welcomes the Muslim population especially if they vote for her. However, local radio host, Fred Tupper, is suspect of the Muslims and their supposed terrorist ways. But he and many of the townsfolk, Muslim or Christian, are equally as suspect of someone like Amaar since he is from the big bad city of Toronto, a city which has shaped his views and which is contrary to the outlook of a town like Mercy. ![]()

| Life with Derek (2005)
Casey and Derek both had great lives before they met each other, as well as single parents. When Casey's mom, Nora, meets Derek's dad, George, they date, and ultimately marry each other, causing Casey to have to move into Derek's house, losing her friends and old school. Now, Casey and her sister, Lizzie, must deal with a new house, a new school, two new step brothers, Edwin and Derek, a new step sister, Marti, and a new step father, George.
Casey, at first, feels angry at her mom's decision, and hates the fact that she must share a room with Lizzie, with almost no space, and her having no say-in on what the family does, since it's still not really her house. But Casey soon grows accustom to her new house, but still can't stand Derek, her obnoxious, egotistic new step brother, whom, like Casey, is also the eldest of their siblings, which causes a reoccurring conflict between the two, who are used to bossing around their siblings.
Since the beginning, Casey has made a good friend, Emily,is going out with max, the football's team quaterback . Casey is really fitting in and starting to enjoy her new life, but she may never get used to Derek.

things were lost, and others were gained.
A new school, a new house, so many changes it makes my head
spin. Now I've got a brother who gets under my skin.
